Memento mori is Latin: remember you will die. Around AD 197, the Christian writer Tertullian tells how a Roman in his triumph was told to look behind him and remember he was only a man. In Tudor England, people wore skull rings for the same reason. None of it is Norse.
This ring is a stylised take, not a replica: the motif in raised relief, in 925 sterling silver, with a dark patina that deepens with wear.
