The story behind it
The back carries the Valknut, three interlocked triangles carved on 8th-century Gotland picture stones such as Stora Hammars I. The front carries the Vegvísir, first recorded in an Icelandic manuscript of 1860. The name valknut is modern; no Old Norse text uses it.
This pendant is a stylised take, not a replica: the Vegvísir and a full Elder Futhark row on the face, Valknut, triquetra, crescent and Mjölnir on the back, an open hole at the centre.
